Urbanised Cities Digital images
Three digital images on corfoam is the depiction of architecture that can be found within urban, modernised cities.

ARTIST STATEMENT

"Urbanised Cities " depicts my futuristic vision of urban spaces on a global stage . They are whimsical and decorative - an optimistic response in what currently has the potential to be an otherwise apocalyptic world . There is , however, a somewhat dystopian undercurrent due to the lack of any human reference in these works. But overall, they are a result of our endeavours to beautify our environment .

ARTWORK PROCESS

The making process began with an excursion to Innisfail - a town proud of its Art Deco architecture. It was followed by extensive research into architecture and led to Takahiro Iwasaki- a Japanese sculptor. The arrangement of Iwasaki's artworks provided inspiration through their detail and three dimensionality . Artificial Intelligence software was used to combine images that were manipulated and edited . The end result is whimsical , futuristic decorative urban scapes - almost dystopian - that engage the viewer.
