ARTIST STATEMENT
Statistically, I'm entering the deadliest years of my life. During these years my chances of dying in a car accident is the highest it will ever be. I'm also entering a period of my life where me & other young men will be searching for avenues to build their character as a man, a modern take on rites of passage.
Driving to me represents a true escape, I can travel anywhere I want with zero guidance We're often too naïve of the dangers of reckless driving until it's too late.
ARTWORK PROCESS
I chose to represent my personal contexts through digital illustration. The bubbly art-style used was influenced by Daniel Costa and his work on Bluey. The Brisbane made tv show has a very fun style which I was excited to explore and implement in my body of work and use it to create some contrast with the darker themes of my focus.
