My artwork exploits a personal, psychological issue that triggered my eating disorder. The loop of visuals and sound creates a disturbance. Confronting images explore my personal relationship with food. The physical reaction I experienced and the drive to keep up with the changing standards in my life becomes paramount. This resulted in over-eating to prove something to the world. Unfortunately, being fat isn’t trendy. My already dangerous eating habits went in the opposite direction. People didn’t notice, because the change from fat to skinny was an accomplishment rather than a concern. After damaging myself to gain acceptance, I will never feel good enough.
