Sunflowers are renowned globally for their unique beauty and symbolic attributes, something I aimed to create within ‘Sunflower’. Confirming to my focus, ‘Sunflower’ conveys knowledge of personal and social contexts conveying various experiences, events, and emotions. The beauty of a sunflower reflects that of the Australian natural environment, establishing the idea that unrefined life is beautiful, and alterations can impact the individuality which makes something unique. The sunflower and mediums were manipulated to communicate social contexts like the war in Ukraine, and personal contexts like memories, and the blank petals represent the events and experience still to come.
