ARTIST STATEMENT
With inspiration from Abdul Abdullah, I have created a piece that focuses on memories and how a camera can perfectly capture a moment and how people are more than what you see. I think this artwork will have a positive impact on the audience as my art is communicating that there is more to a person than their physical appearance, it is about who they are, what they stand for and who they want to become. With each image representing a different aspect of a person, this will influence the audience to look within themselves, and ponder on what their images would be.
ARTWORK PROCESS
In a Moment is all about how a group of people are all together and friends no matter what they may look like. I have done this by distorting an original picture of my friends and I, and used different images to resemble the values and the personality of everyone included. I have painted the individuals with their natural hair colour to help further identify each one and help the audience identify them as people. By using a collage of both outsourced and original photographs, my artwork shows that throughout our individuality and differences, we are all still connected.
