ARTIST STATEMENT
Projection, a swirling series of circles, addresses the nature of the human condition. Each piece alludes to molecular study, evoking images of labs. Closer observers see themselves, cracked mirrors reflecting both colour and the viewer. Despite our outer-body projections, we remain practically identical in science’s eyes. Unchanged, our bodies imitate the outer painting, and within we’re made up of cracks, colours, and molecules. The cycle of human betterment is represented in the continual experimentation that comprises Projection. Encompassing the human experience on a cellular level evokes ideas of fate, as our lives conclude we all travel to the same place.
ARTWORK PROCESS
Ideas of unification and self-reflection are my intentions for this work. Formed within a Contemporary and Personal Context I communicate my own journey of reflection through an investigative and observable lens. Projection aims to evoke images of biological structures with human implications.
