ARTIST STATEMENT

The artwork,' Eyes of All,' juxtaposes my preferred artmaking method: pencil on paper. The mediums used for 'Eyes of All' were moulded video images to create a new fictional organism, and the technology available: Premiere Pro and After Effects. Innovatively, the purpose of the artwork was to inspire a new contemporary generation of artmaking and to motivate a reaction from audiences. This is supported by gloomy colour grading, ominous sound design, and the visual surrealism. Interestingly, a personal context is applied when considering the artwork’s display intention. This artwork's revealing nature inspires personal improvement regarding confidence and anxiety issues.

ARTWORK PROCESS

I experimented by working with existing knowledge of object/image tracking, colour grading, and sound design for an innovative, contemporary approach to art. This folio follows a personal context, evident by my innate passion for filmmaking; however, a contemporary context is more prominent shown through the technology used, made contemporarily available, to create an innovative product. To inspire new contemporary methods of artmaking, my former preferred method of traditional illustration was substituted with experimental filmmaking.
