ARTIST STATEMENT
“Escape from reality” is a multimedia piece using my research assignment, acrylic paint and paint markers. My artwork is a mirror between my fantasy and reality. The inside of the mirror is my fantasy from favourite place in a game called “Genshin Impact”. My reflection shows the God of freedom from the game and my yearning for a carefree life and freedom. The scenery from the game is painted in semi-realism as it is more fun and vivid compared to the mundane reality. The other side is my reality which is made up of the things things I want to escape from.
ARTWORK PROCESS
My artwork “Escape from Reality” is a multimedia portrait artwork painted using acrylic paints. The background and my portrait were painted using acrylic paints, while the outside has my printed assignments pasted as representation of my reality. Posca markers were used to draw the curtains, furniture, and miscellaneous in the outside part of the painting.
