ARTIST STATEMENT

"Not Much Left to my Imagination" takes up a personal perspective of adolescence processing childhood trauma. The artist explores themes of what it means to escape her past traumas via the idea of being clean, shown in her bathing, while also seeing her fits of destruction drawn from emotional velocity, as is shown in herself covered in blood while screaming in the same bathtub. The original poem driving the narrative of the film expresses the subject's pain, and how she feels she brings it upon herself - a common theme amongst victims of childhood trauma.
