Communication, while being vital in resolving conflict, appears to be what people lack most, resulting in the destruction of relationships and communities. 'An Uncomfortable Situation' is a large collage created using a personal context to refer to cultural issues. The artwork consists of sixteen responses from friends, who were all involved in a group falling out, and their perspectives from what occurred. The letters were manipulated using an irregular rhythm to create an ununified artwork that expresses how conflict makes communication difficult. By forcing the audience to decipher and interact with the work, issues of perspective and communication are presented for them to reflect on.
