ARTIST STATEMENT
Our environment's unposed, simple, or humble elements are neglected within contemporary society. Social media and constant innovation have resulted in continuous overconsumption and boredom with what was widely valued. Patchwork reveals the natural beauty within the unposed and candid. Each moment is the culmination of personal memories, emotions, and relationships, producing an image to be cherished by an individual, family or community. The use of squares is a metaphor for how every instance is a patchwork of countless external and internal factors that produce a personally significant subject.
ARTWORK PROCESS
