Don’t we all desire to know and understand ourselves? But to understand our identities, we must bring our unconscious: fears, obsessions and questions, into consciousness through visual experience. I synthesised my divergent concept, through a contemporary context, in my media choice of artist, flip book, the referencing of real-life imagery and exploitation of traditional Exquisite Corpse. Therefore, this evolved aesthetic acts as the vehicle that invites dialogue between my artwork, the audience and myself. Ultimately, repressed psychological processes are made conscious as they are decoded, through a personal context, as viewer’s prior knowledge is appealed to.
