‘An Anthology of Me’ Painting
The central canvas represents myself and my identity, split into two parts that demonstrates my bipolar disorder.

ARTIST STATEMENT

This series was created with a visual anthology in mind. I wanted to create an anthology of my experiences throughout high school, highlighting how political issues such as mental illness, self harm, and relationships have impacted me. Rather than using unknown women as my inspiration, I looked within and drew from my own life story. Each component of the artwork represents either a person, event, or element that relates to my life. The left canvas is representative of sadness and low points throughout my life. The right canvas is a contrast to this, as it represents happiness and positivity in my life, mainly through art
