Desolate represents the ambivalent feelings experienced when thinking about the future and the endless possibilities it presents. In this universe, every being has their place, and as humans, we often speculate about the future and how slight decisions can alter our path significantly. The manipulated videos use shape and colour to convey worry and fear, as well as promote intrigue and happiness. Sound contrasts with displacement and can be viewed as a code for the ways in which we communicate. Nam June Paik’s use of technology and Sanya Kantarovsky’s Happy Soul projection, have influenced this work.
