'Forecast' is based on my experience looking down over the boundless ocean and being overwhelmed by a profound sense of my own insignificance. It is inspired by 17th century maritime paintings of ominous weather events and predicts the reality of climate change. Underneath the waves, in the relatively calm abyss a plastic bag, evidence of our toxic society, sinks to the bottom as a metaphor for our inability to act. This limbo that it exists in can be called to action…..pick up the bag.
