Enlarged Life, 2022 is inspired by nature and the patterns observed in my environment. The work is influenced by the large scale works of Sheila Hicks juxtaposed with the microscopic patterns found on leaves and petals. A constant motif of a circle and sphere has been observed and developed. The formal context of this piece explores layering, wrapping and forming while the contemporary and cultural context links to the environment and sense of place. Materials are manipulated to represent the textures and patterns seen through a microscope. Scale has manipulated to show movement and the increase in size seen through the microscope’s lens.
