ARTIST STATEMENT
Who am I? explores the different depictions of myself. It’s a timeline, a gradient from when I’m at my worst to my best and in the centre me. Who am I? which version am I? Am I me? Or am I someone else? Irrational fears haunt me. I cannot speak, I cannot move but I can see. I’m groovy, funky, I have fun. I feel empty. Tired. Dead. I can’t keep this façade up. Is this me? Who is see in the mirror is that me? Well, that’s who’s there so surly it’s me.

ARTWORK PROCESS
This Artwork began with the creation of my film to be projected. I created my makeup to represent a drag alien and filmed most of the shots in a dark room experimenting with lighting. I then began the progress creating the five self-portraits starting with a sketch in yellow paint and progressively working on details. I added words using vintage letter sheets relating to each mood in the works. finally, I took out pages in books, covered the insides with book binding tape and hot glued the portraits and mirrors into the books.
