My artwork ‘Family Line’ is exploring how we can keep a connection after someone has passed. I wanted to share the love there is in my family for our Poppy. The artwork is looking at the different ways we are able to express strong emotions such as grief. The visual contrast between photographs and the painted portrait is to show a distinction between him in life and frozen in time. The watery aspect to the work reflects his love for the ocean. The use of mixed media shows different aspects of his life and ways people felt about him.
