ARTIST STATEMENT

I love wearing the end products and making things that are usable. I used every crochet stitch I know combined with the hidden maths of mapping human wearable objects. The works represent an honesty - real clothing that looks spunky, using beautiful colours and made by me; not China. People love style and the idea that clothing is hand-made – I make it a reality.

ARTWORK PROCESS

I find inspiration first: research -the internet or I see clothes I like and I turn them into crochet clothes. I plan most pieces using a sketch. Sometimes I just make them up in my head. I choose colours. I don't follow any patterns. I often make the designs up as I go along. I am often pursued by the materials that I come across; some in op shops, some on-line. I usually sell my work before it is finished.
