The themes behind Undone were formed whilst researching the disparity between the face that someone shows in public and private. The film and audio I composed exhibit the inherent duality between public and private. It invites the audience to consider what is ‘real’. The duality is displayed through colour, the left rendered with increased contrast and colour grading, whilst the other displaying a bleak monochromatic setting. Thematically, there is a disparity between what is publicly displayed and the intent behind said display – to hide something covert. A metaphor taken literally– beyond surface level, things aren’t “simply in black and white”.
