Imagine the warm sun, fresh air, and feel of the grass between your toes; now; the beeping of machines, stench of disinfected bandages, and sensation of cold tiles under bare feet in empty corridors. Reflecting and responding from a personal perspective on hospitalisation, I am keenly aware of the melancholy and pain associated with this sterile environment. My work respectfully explores the melding of the ancient traditions of First Nations Peoples, the healing properties of honey, and the struggle to find value and place for naturopathy in a contemporary world.
