In the natural world ephemeral materials are constantly evolving. My artwork explores the concept that change is inevitable. Each video portrays the evolution in shape, colour and size that occurred to the ice preserved flowers when the natural elements of fire, water or earth were applied to it. The ice acts as a barrier in each video, preserving and protecting the flowers natural state from the detrimental influence of the hidden laws of nature. Each surface I incorporated represents a manmade structure, interacting with the natural material whilst they undergo different changes in shape, form and colour in each video.
Flowers were preserved in ice cubes and placed in various environments. The process of their change, when different elements were applied, was recorded.
