In this piece my aim was to show off the beauty of the Sulphur Crested Cockatoo. They are my favourite species of bird, as they are highly intelligent and curious. I tried to show their personality by drawing them in different poses and placing emphasis on their inquisitive eyes. I used bright, lively colours to reflect their loud and distinctive squawk and drew them perched in a Gumtree, which is a icon of the Australian landscape, and aptly named it after the song 'Home among the Gumtrees.'
