ARTIST STATEMENT
Layered Memories explores the conceptual notion of memory and its influence on our perception of the world around us. Each panel has simplified shapes, derived from personal photographs, drawing the audience to question their significance. When layered, these individual moments become one, much like our memories. The use of glass is a metaphor for the translucency and fragility of memories as they physically and metaphorically overlap over time. Together, the glass becomes a window, allowing the audience to become a voyeur of my past and experience my intimate interpretation of the world.
