ARTIST STATEMENT
'A Week Only' is a digitally manipulated monoprint that emotionally illustrates the experiences a student faced, over a period of one week. These images were captured during a week where exams and assessment were most frantic, conveying a range of emotions encountered within a short period of time. The overlayed colour is coded to represent the stress, fatigue and contentment felt throughout this week. The purpose is not for an audience to recognise the meaning of these colours, but appreciate the fluctuating nature of them.
ARTWORK PROCESS
Student began with mono-print portraits of a selected student representing the experiences she faced over one week. These were then digitally manipulated and re-framed compositionally with the addition of color.
