VACC Industry Awards - Criteria

Submissions should address the following criteria in relation to the entrant's organisational operations.

Definitions of Small Business (Six or less employees); Large Business (seven or more employees).

If an entrant is a VACC member, but not currently divisionally accredited, they should contact their VACC Area Manager for information on becoming accredited.

The following category (8 awards) are open to accredited and non-accredited VACC members.

Entrants need to select the award they wish to apply for, e.g. Best Auto Electrical – Small Business (if there are six or less staff).

Note: A full breakdown of the awards is available for viewing on the Awards Categories Tab.

Submissions should be between 500 – 4,000 words. Supporting material can be uploaded once the entrant has logged in under the Attachments sections. Material may include jpg, jpeg, png, doc, docx, ppt, pptx or pdf files up to 2MB and video files in wmv, avi, mp4, mov or flv up to 10MB. If video is bigger than 10MB, please provide a video link (YouTube or Vimeo).

This award category reflects restoration projects through which an individual has applied high levels of problem solving, innovation, and skill in the pursuit of his restoration program. This can be a personal or workshop project but must have a significant proportion of the restoration work undertaken by the person or company submitting for the award. The rarity, value and cache of the vehicle, will not automatically prioritise merit, or unfairly influence the outcome. 

This category may include substantial restoration contributions to the vehicle body, or engine, and, for two of the categories, does not have to focus on the total vehicle restoration.

Given the broad range and type of vehicle restoration projects in automotive, these awards will be judged through a portfolio approach. Program participants will provide a description and chronological diary through which the restoration project has progressed.

Members can apply for a maximum of two awards in this category and can be the same or different vehicles.

Applications to this award can include up to 20 photographs and film footage, up to five minutes in length, of the project if available.

Nominated candidates will be working at the sharp end of the business on a daily basis. They will demonstrate an outstanding level of commitment to getting the job done and the team will depend on their contribution.
